ok so im a dancer, and i have been dancing since i was 3. i love it soo much, but im really starting to get serious about it now. im 16. i realllyyyy want to get somewhere with dancing. i am good but there are a lot of improvements that i have to make. but i am soo driven and determined to become the best dancer i can be. i am confident in my jumps and overall technique. i am pretty flexible but i could work on it. that is easy though, i plan on stretching every day. any specific stretches or drills that will make me super flexible quick?? also what needs most improvement are my turns. i have like a balence problem lol. i can only consistently do a clean double. better turning left. this is a problem hah. how can i significantly improve with my turning??? finally, do you think its possible for me to get really good at this point? am i too old? also any other suggestions to improve in general are welcome. thanks!!

  1. I dont get the qestion...sorry.......I streetdance and i am only 12.

  2. for the flexibility thing if you have like a high counter or high bed or something what really works for me is to face the counter and put one leg on top and reach toward my foot....im kind of wondering the same thing about getting good when your kindof later starting thatn a lot of people.... cause im only going to be a sophmore in hs and started four years ago turn drills are really good for turns to just hold your releve and posse(sp) for as long as you can and tight abs help for turns too.

  3. if you want to be number 1 :) you must train as if your number 2.

  4. I think you can get really good!!

for stretching - when you read at home, go against a wall and put your legs in a straddle possition for the front splits. and stay there as long as you read.

    - Everynight before a bath go for a ten minute fast walk, have a HOT bath and then do at least 20 minutes of stretching before you go to bed. I am sure you know most stretches since you have been dancing a long time.

-Pirrouettes -well I am having the same problem as you. my goal is to be able to do five comfortably on both sides by the end of the year,

If you find anything really helpfull please e-mail me.

    Goodluck xx

  5. hmm, well you first have to dance with your heart, not your head. yes it's also essential, but you have to dance like no one's watching, with no care in the world. as for your flexibility question, that doesn't come quickly, you just have to do constant stretching. and for your turning question, try spotting. if you're practicing in front of a mirror, before you start your turns, look for a spot what you can focus on, think of that spot before you start your turn. then after one turn look for that spot again once you've completed your first one... and it just goes on and on...  no one's too old to dance, you just have to have the passion for it... :)
