  1. Woohoo! Go Retro!

    lol.

But go look at some dance videos and "steal" or be creative and make your own steps by kind of basing your steps of some other choreography.

  2. The first thing to do is to get the lyrics to the song you'll be dancing to. Google it. You can divide the song into sections of 4 to 8 lines depending on the tempo. But you don't have to. Another thing you don't have to do is work on the song from the beginning through the end. Listen to the song and dance to it. Do whatever you feel like. Be creative. Maybe you'll find something you want to use. Like, this song I'm in the middle of creating a dance routine to, has one word repeated quite often. Every time this word is sung, there's a specific move that corresponds. Don't do this for more than maybe one word in your song or it could get boring. Also, you could have a block of dance moves for the chorus. This really works best if the chorus is about six lines long and the verses are fairly substantial (five or six lines). If the chorus is equal to a large percentage of the song, it could get too predictable. Another thing to do when trying to find moves is RESEARCH! Go on YouTube. Search for "NewEcho" (no space between the two words). They've got some good stuff. Also try searching for "dance steps" and watch music videos. You can also Google for "dance steps." Don't be afraid to twist and combine different people's moves. And if you have a friend who's really good at dancing at parties, then maybe you could get some advice from her. Enjoy! That's what dance is all about!

  3. Choose a great song. I'm not sure what kinda song your looking for so I can't really help you there.

go on youtube and "steal" some great moves.

or look at music videos.  and mix and match with the moves.

    should turn out fine :)
