Dance styles for a tall 13 year-old: 132lbs?

I am a 13 year-old who wants to go 'healthy' and improve my lifestyle, I am thinking of the swim team since I used to be on it and yoga but I decided against it and thought because I'm really shy and lack self-confidence I should try dance, because at all the parties i've been to i've always been the shy girl in the background.. Help with what styles of dance I should try?

  1. try all kinds of dance and do whatever dance style you feel most comfortable in but i fyou want to do something to where you can dance at parties do hip hop

  3. Try lifting weights

    i did and lost like 45 lbs while getting alot stronger (granted im a guy) but still its the most efficient way to lost weight *dont be discouraged if the scale creeps up, muscle weighs more than fat*

  4. Ballet would give you balance and you would need to do a lot of stretching

    Hiphop or Jazz would really get you up and moving

    I would say jazz would be the best choice

    as long as u hit it hard u will blend rite in

    unless u have very slender long legs, don't do ballet

  6. KRUMPING sounds perfect for you. u will get in shape because it will make you stronger. u will gain more confidence because u lay it all out on the dance floor. It is also good anger management whenever u get mad. search TIGHT EYEZ on youtube. there are plenty of girl Krumpers. plus: it is a LOT of fun!

  7. hip hop and jazz are really fun. jazz isn't just crazy hands, you have to be flexible and happy. hip hop is my favorite but also the hardest style of dance. dance ROX!
