Dance team captain?

Question

for anyone who has been a dance team captain or anyone who has had one...can you tell me please what exactly they do as opposed to the coaches? what they are in charge of? are they supposed to choreograph the dances or are the coaches? thanks, any input would help!

I am the captain of my high school dance team. I have choreographed dances and I am in charge of stretches and just being a leader and an example to the team.  It isnt a hard job, its actually very fun. I love choosing costumes and creating the music mixes for our dances. Its a great experience! ( It also depends on the coach and what they consider a captain is )
