  1. Definitely try out. If you don't make it, you can always ask for tips on how to improve.

For jumps and turns like fouettes, the best is to increase your leg muscles. Ask your dance teacher but if you want to increase them faster, after practicing jumps and turns, hit the workout room and use machines to work your legs. Also, try to get your hips looser so that your turn out will get better and come more naturally. A lot of that is muscle that you just have gain through practice. Practice developpes correctly and as much as possible. Make sure you are getting into your deep plies for jumps. Even just working on plies and releves would help a lot.

If they already said, they're looking for potential. Definitely try out. They might take you and then teach you how to get those turns and jumps faster and better. Make sure you're strengthening basics a lot and dancing quite a bit. You don't want to not prepare as much because they said they are looking for potential. They want to see potential and as much dancing ability as you can give.

  2. tryout anyways it will give you an idea where you are and what you need to work on and you may be taught what you need to be able to do

  3. What do you have to lose? just go for it, if you don't make it well at least you tried. When i tried out for the dance team in my school I thought i wasn't gonna make it, and i did. Today I am better than i ever thought i would be :]

  4. do it! im trying out for competition teams too, but probably in intermidiate or secondary level.

anyways, be confident and don't forget to smile!

  5. what you should do is work on your appearance and come as your best so they would have high expectations! You should also eat alot but health and drink lots of water and review what you know and work out! Youll be fine but just work as hard as you can!

  6. You should go for it! Dancing is all about the passion so if you want to be on that team, then trying out is the only way you'll get on it. If you dont at least try then you'll be beating yourself up for not trying.

Just remember to show personality, cause alot of times that counts more that technique.

    Good luck!
