I want to take some Jazz dancing classes, I wonder if I need to go to a class (which takes 1 hour for me to get there) or do DVD tutorials work just as well? Thanks!

  1. It's best to take at least a few classes with a teacher before trying to use DVD's to learn a dance style.  You have someone to  answer your questions as they arise.  In classes you also learn from other dancers in the class.  After you feel that you have a decent foundation, it should be easier to understand DVD's.  Plus, you may find out which DVD's are the best ones from your teacher or other students.  Good luck.

  2. classes would definitely be the best thing to do. Unlike a DVD, you could have someone to help you and correct you.

Besides, what fun is dancing when you are by yourself?

  3. there is nothing like interpersonal interaction with the dance trainer but if you are a quick learner then i guess you could always use the DVD.
