  1. Yea I know what u mean, I danced for nine years and i couldnt do anything on my left side.

when u practice your combinations, start with the left side , so you get used to that side

  2. Practice!! Practice!! Practice!! Just take everything really slow, step by step. Work on each little move separately and slowly piece things together. If you have individual moves you're really having trouble with, consult the help of us on Yahoo! Answers, and one of us can take you through it step by step. (Add an additional detail if you would like to do that now).

  3. I am a dancer myself, and I used to have the same problem. What helped me was, just trying not to focus on the fact that I was dancing on my less dominate side. It takes some time to retrain your body to do what is hard. Don't fret it will come to you. It's all about the practice.

  4. every day at least once or twice just do things to excersize your left side [ or your brain that controlls it ] like on your left side do like jazz fingers and silly little stuff, may sound dumb, but it can really improve

  5. practice

  6. as a dancer myself, i have often had the same problem

at my studio, we might learn a combo one week and continue on it the next class.

in between, i practice as much as i can doing both sides of the combo.

also, once you are taught the combo, if you have time to practice before everyone does it full out, i would practice both sides, not just the right side even if you are only going to do the right side right away.

if theres ever any down time or water breaks just mark the leftr side as many times as you can. it just takes practice. youll get more and more comfortable with it as time goes on

  7. I have the exact same problem for the past two years. What I suggest is to start with learning the combination on the left first, master it on that side and then turn to the right. It's worked for me!

By doing this overall you will improve your ability of performing on both sides at demand. Believe me, all dancers have a preferred side, I suppose it's developed through habit.

Most of it is confidence! Tell yourself that you can do it on the left side and this will help if you have faith in yourself that you can do the combination on your weak side.

  8. Try it in front of a mirror.

Or do one move at a time on the left, then right over and over, then piece them together

  9. PRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTICE...

    PRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTI...

    PRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTICEPRACTI...

    MAKES PERFECT.
