I'm 14 and I dance classical ballet but my teacher and my mum say that I need to tone my body again (and lose weight). I have to admit I am a bit chubby right now. I want to tone my tummy, thighs and waistline how can I do all that? Is there is a good, fast and safe way to do this? I have costume fitting in 20 days and REALLY want to lost the chubbiness!! My teacher told me that just dancing wont help me lose the weight I want so I need to do separate exercises, Please please help!!!

  1. I've been in EXACTLY the same situation and my first advice is not to stress because it will really only make your anxiety and want to eat worse. Keep eating, NEVER starve yourself but just have lots of really healthy food. I've found that pounding the pavement exhausted me but doing lots of high-impact jazz or hip-hop to loud music, combined with Pilates or yoga, really helped. Perhaps combine your regular barre stretches at home with a different sort of high-impact exercise every day. And of course, please stretch beforehand, nothing worse than getting injured before a performance! Cheers love

  2. Hey Mila! I'm a dancer too!

Well let me just say, I know its summer, and goodies are all around us! Fries, ice cream, chips, burgers! Right? Well let me give you a bit of advice, be a vegetarian for these couple of days! It will let you loose weight and give you more energy!

Also, go to your local YWCa, or YMCA and get a personel trainer or go to a toning class or something!

    Good Luck

  3. to burn fat, increase your heart rate, in other words RUN!!!!

    get the blood pumpin..

  4. well dancing is one of the best uses of exercise

so it could help u lose weight

but just go to the  gym everyday

and watch wat u r eating cuz that is a reason for gaining weight

and dont eat to late at night becuz it makes u gain weight too

  5. Well, I'm a former dancer and i do a small work out every day just to keep fit, but when I was still dancing my teacher gave us a workout that we'd all (including him! he had the most rock hard abs ever!) do together at the start of class. It's hard, but you could try.

crunches: start at 20. do 20 regular, with your legs up straight and toes pointed, with your legs open in a split, lay on your right side with your knees bent and crunch towards your sides. flip and do the other side. repeat with 15, 10, 5, 2, 1, and 1 again.  you might wanna stretch your abs after that.

push ups: we started at 10 reps because we were weaklings.

-hands parallel to body, elbows out.

-hands parallel to body, elbows in.

    -hands facing outwards, elbows out.

-and lastly hands in the shape of a triangle.

    plus running.

sorry for it being long >_< hopefully i helped?
