  1. There should be no blood, just pain in the toes and sometimes numbness when you first take off the shoes.  For your first year of pointe, you shouldn't spend more than 30 minutes per pointe class, a few times a week.  Ouch Pouches are wonderful.  You should also buy some medical tape to tape a particularly sensitive spot on a single toe or if you feel a blister coming.

Don't worry, it takes several years of pointe work to build calluses and have ugly feet.  Take it one year at a time and enjoy what you've worked so hard for!

  2. It kind of depends, I don't feel hardly any pain, but some people in my class feel a ton of pain. Ouch Pouches should help at least a little bit. Oh, and make sure to cut your toenails frequently, because it is really painful to go en pointe with even a little longer toe nails.

  3. Okay well ive never really had that much pain... I mean it was uncomfortable and there was pain, but its worse in the begining, you will get use to it some what. Since your a beginner your feet should be messed up that bad. You may get a few blister, some cuts and some callouses. But they all make your skin tougher and they are minor injuries.something i like to do after a pointe class is too Soak my feet in warm water with some epsom salts to clean them as well help relax the muscles and joints after being on pointe.Cleaning the feet soon after being on pointe helps keep down the risk of developing foot and toe fungus.

Sometimes i apply mositurizers, lotions or balms on my feet so my callouses dont get too bad

to keep from getting ingrown toenails, or other things you should keeps your toe nails trimmed. You should cut straight across. not too short or cut into the sides.

If your toes do bleed..you can buy medicated dance gauze or bandages and wrap that around your feet and then put your toe pads on.

*dont worry its not as painful and as bad as some people say it is. But i also think it depends on your tollerance for pain. good luck with pointe and im sure as soon as you start dancing en pointe you will love is sooo much you wont even think about the pain!! ♥

  4. yea your going to have a lot of pain so be prepared!

  5. YES...expect alot more pain...usually you can tell when a dancer has danced en pointe casue their feet are all messed up...

  6. LOTS!!! My friend has messed up feet, because of being on her toes a lot. Also, my mom had to rub her mom's feet everytime she got home from dance
