Dancers help me recital soon i need help!!?

Recital is coming and i can not wait but am very nervous how do i calm my self down i always find a way but please help me this is my 5th year having more than 6 dances and its gonna be funn but hard help me please!!?

  1. ways that helped me calm down are  

    - thinking i have someone in the audience to watch me and even if i mess up they still love me

    - watching the younger girls and see how far ive come

    - watching the older girls to become more like them

    - breathing in through the nose out through the mouth

    - walking in circles

    -closing my eyes

  3. The thing that helps me the most when I am about to go on stage is I just try to take deep breaths and remember your not going to die if you mess up here or there. Just think if your in the audience you don't laugh or not like a person because they maybe made a mistake. Not saying you will make a mistake but just try to remember it's a fun sport and have fun!

  4. practice, but dont over practice, sometimes it jogs the memory, get lots of rest, and keep thinking positive, i dance competitions and i always have really bad nerves and i do like 6 dances aswell, so i know what your feeling =)

  5. think: it's just a recital, it's fine.  

    eat fun stuff and have fun with your friends.  take your mind off the nervousness.

  6. this is what I do: close your eyes and concentrate on breathing, let your mind clear and relax and your muscles (laying down is best, but standing works too) concentrate on the muscles at the bottom of your feet and just keep moving up until all your muscles are relaxed. Remember that you've done this plenty of times and that know matter what happens it was super fun!!! maybe do a quick stretch before you go on. Good luck!

    I had 20 dance total and I was soooo stressed...

    Just get alot of rest...don't dance for a day or two

    Trust me...if you don't get rest...you will get hurt or perform badly :(

  8. just turn your nervous energy into excited energy. just think, this is your time to strut your stuff and show off what you can do! be excited to go out on stage and own it!

  9. Don't worry. I get nervous during my dance recitals, but as soon as a dance on stage, I stop being nervous. Just concentrate on the dance and look beyond the audience, that's what I do.

  10. ok well this is gonna sound kinda cooky but put your tongue to the roof of your mouth, this calms down your mind (trust me they did a study!) other then that try running through your dances in your head while your waiting to go on or little things like that. Hope it all goes well for you!

  11. Breathe deeply. Go over the dance steps a couple of hours before the show....but not right before...that can stress you out.

    Get to the recital early to calm yourself down and get familiar with the setting.

  12. try not to think about it too much, it'll just make you more nervous. my recital was about 2 months ago, and i had 5 dances, and it went fine. just try to get your mind off of it, and only think of the dances when you go over them in your head the day before.

  13. behind the curtains, practice your dance a gagillion times, just have fun. dance for yourself and noone else
