Dancers help me!!! why do i feel like this?

Question

i am a good dancer. but not that good. i am not even en pointe yet. and my teacher is putting me in an advanced ballet class. will the other people get mad at me because that class requires 4 yrs experience and i only have 1. and will i be able to catch on? also,can someone give me a good ballet website were i can finally get my cygnets right?

Hey, I was in a similar situation and of course I thought everybody would be mad at me. But it was the opposite! I couldn't believe how encouraging they were; particularly if one makes it clear how passionate one is about dance and really is a team player.

My particular sticking point is pirouettes and I've tried so many websites but couldn't recommend just one; you'll just have to spend an afternoon Googling and (safely) trying techniques. You might want to book a 15 minute private lesson with your teacher also; she'll definitely understand and see the benefits if she's seen your talent already. I wish you all the best.

well your teacher obviously thinks your ready so  youll be fine, but its going to be hard work, so if your not willing to really work at it then maybe its  not a good idea to take that class

They shouldn't be mad at you....maybe a bit jealous..but certainly not angry. I'm in the advanced class at my studio. I was a bit jealous when a couple of the girls who had only been dancing for about a year got their pointe shoes and joined our class. I had worked so long and hard. But that was just simple jealousy. I wasn't angry with them. I still treat them like a member of the class should be treated and still respect them a lot.

I'm sure you'll be able to catch on just fine. The steps will be at a much faster pace and a bit more complicated...but it shouldn't be too overwhelming for you.

i have the same problem to i just registered yesterday and know she put me on prepointe and in the advaned ballet but i know alot of the girls in there and they r really nice and im pretty sure you'll catch on cuz i don't think ur teacher would put u in there if u weren;t ready

Well i aint no ballet dancer//i do hip-hop but maybe yo Teacher see'z more in you..and knows u got skill! so i'm sure u can do it..about the 2nd Q..uh na sorry can't answer >.<
