  1. all i can say is stretch and most dancers are already in shape but u can do what i call the roller coaster to strengthen your ankles.1. stand in 2nd position turned out then go into eleva then plie' and keep feet arched out 2. drop heels to the ground and then stretch up.also do a few jumps from first (sotas) to help fitness

  2. Standing on your toes isn't so much weight. It's balance. Start by holding something and just standing as high as you can go, and keep going higher. When you get to your toes, stand as long as you can without holding it. Do it everyday and you'll get to the point where you can have your arms in like, 5th (arms above your head) without holding something.

  3. eat alota carbs

  4. things i do: crunches, push ups, dance

things i should do: eat healthier, run, stretch

well it's actually not your toes you need to strengthen, it's your ankles. there are tons of different exercises you can do to improve ankle strength. if you search for questions (on this site) that involve preparing for pointe and such, you should find some good ones. the simplest in my opinion is to just walk around and stand in demi pointe as much as you can. it's pretty easy to do without even having to take time out of your schedule. when you're walking to go to another room in your house, talking on the phone, watching tv, talking to your friends, waiting in line for something, or even at work depending on what your job is. i work at a candy store so i have to stand behind a counter all day. it's a great way to improve my ankle strength and get paid at the same time ;)

    best of luck!

  5. Hi Saffire,

I take 45 hours a week of dance in the "on" season.  That's how I stay in shape.

Instead of thinking of having your toes keep your weight, try using your inner thigh muscles.  It will also help your balance.  Go en relevé and think of bringing your legs together using your inner thighs.  This works best in first and second position to get the idea.  Don't actually move your feet; just squeeze the muscles on your thighs, and you'll balance better and it'll bring the weight off your toes.

Good luck and hope this helped!  Keep dancing!♥

  6. Dancing is my exercise! I also walk everyday and some light weight training.

I'm assuming you mean in demi. The key is good spinal alignment and squeezing the bum!
