Dancing Career..?

I'm NOT a dancer, but ive always wondered how dancers could make a career with dancing besides teaching. It sounds extremely diffficult! What is the ultimate goal of a dancer?? (careerwise)

A dancer's goal is to work for a major dance company that does shows around the country, or most of the time, around the world. Although many dancers only work until they're in their early 30's.

Ballet dancers would want to be part of a major company such as the National Ballet of Canada or  the American Ballet Theatre. After their performing career is over they could become a choreographer or artistic director.  There are other careers in dance as well though. Backup dancers in music videos, choreographers for videos and movies and plays, adjudicators for competitions and examiners are a few other things that dancers can become.
