Dancing after 30...?

My best friend who is 35 is obsessed with the idea of becoming a dancer. She has no prior professional dance experience but she has always had a passion for dancing and often talks about how she feels like a different person when dancing. When she ask my opinion, I simply tell her anything is possible, but if she is truly serious she should look into taking lessons. Any advice for her? Has her time simply come to late....I do believe that anything is possible… but what are the chances?

  1. You gave her very good advise. If she's serious she needs to take lessons. She can do well in some areas of dance and in some styles. As long as she's not trying to pursue the impossible, like professional classical ballet. Ballroom for exmple would be possible. Especially as a social dance teacher, she can learn to do it for living if she wanted to.

  2. What kind of dancer? Ballroom, hiphop, ballet? It makes a difference in how she would go about pursuing her dream. Does she also expect to make a living doing it, or is it strictly a hobby?

  3. depends on the type of dance.

becoming a performer is not so likely but definitel classes.

    it's never too late.

  4. it is never too late for you to accomplish your dreams. yes it will be harder but the fact is she just needs to start now and be ready for rejection. if and when she gets rejection she just needs to keep trying. if this is her passion it will happen and she will be an inspiration for everyone else that is older to accomplish their dreams

yes..she can start off by taking dance classes and as a friend encourage her....anything is possible
