Dancing letter query?

What would you make of this letter i received today from my daughters dancing school regarding my 4 year old daughter? Hi. I am writing to you regarding your little girl Danielle. Next year we are planning on starting a new advanced class for your daughters age group. The reason i am writing to you is because we would love your little girl to be part of this team. Very few students will be selected. It is a great opportunity for your little girl. Then it goes on to say what the policy is for advanced students. Eg eisteddfods, photo days, concerts, and competitions. Would you take this as a personal invite to the advanced class or just a letter that would be sent to all children in her age group?

  1. It sounds like a definite invite to the class.

I wouldn't get too excited, though. It's highly likely that it may not be selected on ability or achievement at all but only on her having spent a certain amount of time with the school.

  2. I would see if other parents in yuor dd class recieved the same letter.  Just be careful, photo days, concerts etc... turn into big $$$$$ for "advanced" classes.

  3. no, it has been sent to only a few in her age group that are better than the others and have a talent in this area. Be proud of your little girl. Congrats on her ability

  4. I would be a bit suspicious too although it could be genuine.  Why don't you ask some of the other mums if they got the same letter.  I think 4 is much too young to be taking on so much anyway.  Let her just have fun for now.  She should be trying other things as well in future years so don't bog her down to just one thing.
