Dancing school?

I am 13 years old and i want to apply for a dancing high school in my state cos it is the only one in my state, but ive never danced b4 i really want to, but my step dad and my dad can be really discouraging cos they always point out the bad stuff and how they dont think i can do it. The only people who support me in the desision is my mum and my besties, plus if i can get in i only have a year and a half to prepare for auitions.........

Just do it. I bboy (breakdance) and even I don't have full support of my parents. I do it because I love it. Even when I first started out I was horrible at dancing, now I'm getting pretty good at it. Another bonus about dancing is you gain other skills too. Self Confidence, Confidence to talk to other and a cool neat trick to get some guys/girls. ( More of the first 2 though. )

You can learn a lot in a year and a half.

what style of dance is it? ballet? well if ballet just try to make your mum let you go to dance she is the only one that can make your step dad let you go to dance at your age you will be able to remember all the stuff you learned at dance so a year is a great amount of time you will learn a lot so keep your mind open don't be shy or nervous there's no need just be yourself and have a great time learning and having fun good luck and wish me luck too my class starts in 1 week 4 days =^..^=
