Dancing with a body piercing?

I really want a belly ring. I'm taking dance in school next year (as an elective, instead of P.E.) and would like to know if it would maybe...I dont know, tear or something? I haven't danced in a while. We do ballet, modern, and jazz and I'm just sort of worried about it. My birthday is in November and I want my belly button pierced then, but should I wait until the last week of school (when classes are stopped for final exams)?? Any help is appreciated!

  1. it will b fine butt u might just use a ball ring instead of fancy jewlry

  2. I don't like piercings.  I think they look tacky and showoffy.  And especially if you want to dance, it'll show through your leotard/outfit thing.  I used to dance.   But to answer your question, when it heals it will be okay.  But if it catched on the leotard while you're moving, you're in a world of hurt.

  3. my best friend has a belly button ring and she is a ballet/jazz/pointe dancer.  as long as you're careful, you'll be fine. she just dances like normal except in class she has me watch and make sure nothing got torn or anything. just be very mindful of your naval until it heals and clean it before and ofter class to keep it from getting infected. get it pierced whenever you want just be mindful of it and you will be fine.

  4. I am a ballerina and have my belly button pierced. I can rehearse with it in but i take it out for performances and exams. It hurt a little for the first couple of weeks when we did really big stretches and stuff but it's like anything else and you will get use to it.

  5. The movement might irritate it while it is healing, so you might want to wait until break when you can let it heal for a few weeks.

After it heals you shouldnt have a problem
