I have a friend who washed their dog with head and shoulders because of the time period one must wait to use flea and tick shampoo (2 weeks at a time). The dog has thrown up, and is not eating. What should I do?

  1. We have used it on large dogs but not the small ones. The vet told us to use a medicated shampoo and we did. It kills fleas, ticks, mites and any thing else crawling on a dog. Plus it soothes the skin irritatations from the scratching. The dogs coats are very soft and shiney. We use it between flea treatments.

  2. Woah ok your friend should not be using medicated human shampoo on dogs- most anti-dandruff shampoos come with warnings that the ingredients are toxic.

You really shouldnt be washing a dog more than once every two weeks anyway as it dries out their skin. If you did wash the dog in between the time why not just use a good quality dog shampoo or doggie dandruff free shampoo that is safe for pets to use.

I would take the dog to the vets immediately- the dog may be poisoned. Or at least call the vets and ask them for advice.
