Dane R Stassi seizes Men’s 200m butterfly gold – Swimming news 
Dane R Stassi of UN-11-CA seized gold medal of Men’s 200m butterfly on day one of the 2013 Speedo Grand Challenge at Woollett Aquatic Centre on Sunday, May 26.
The 20-year-old Stassi lived up to the expectations of his supporters in the 200m discipline as he made his way to the finishing wall for first position. Stassi faced tough competition from his supporters in the start but with his commendable pace, he managed
to outperform him for the title.
With his exceptional efforts, he stayed in a lead of one body length over his following swimmer and tapped the all for gold medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 01.85 seconds.
The gold medallist was followed by Corey H Okubo of AZOT-CA, who stayed 0.27 seconds behind and surfaced on the finishing end for silver medal with the timing of 2 minutes and 02.12 seconds.
The second best finisher was chased by Gabriel Hernandez of GWSC-CA, who stayed nearly two body lengths behind and transpired on the finishing end for third position with the timing of 2 minutes and 03.93 seconds.
Fourth fastest spot of the race was obtained by Mickey M Mowry of UN-03-CA, who was 0.62 seconds slower from upsetting his former finisher and touched the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 04.55 seconds.
Fifth position of the race was obtained by Ryan M Nelson of GWSC-CA, who was 0.14 seconds slower from his foregoing finisher and hit the wall with the timing of 2 minutes and 04.69 seconds.
Sixth position of the event was obtained by Chris T Taber of AZOT-CA, who suffered a deficit of almost full body length and hit the finishing end with the timing of 2 minutes and 05.55 seconds.
Taber was chased by Christopher Nolan of Tule Nation-CC, who remained only a stroke behind and occupied seventh position of the race by concluding his swim in a time of 2 minutes and 05.82 seconds.
Eighth position of the race was obtained by Alex D Valente of SBSC-CA, who was considerably slower from his former finisher and made his way towards the finishing end by producing a time of 2 minutes and 07.47 seconds.
Furthermore, the position holders collected medals and accolades at the prize ceremony of the tournament after the race while Stassi received a huge round of applause from the crowd for his notable form after the event.
