Danedream to choose from three other options after winning the Qatar Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe at Longchamp on 2nd October
Danedream won the Qatar Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe at Longchamp on 2nd October. This is a Group 1 race for colts, fillies and mares aged three-year and above. He won on the field of sixteen horses in all. Being trained by P Schiergen, Danedream
was being ridden by A Starke.
It was during the midfield that Danedream started becoming prominent, was ridden and went headway two furlong out, led when approaching the final furlong, soon quickened clear and finished the race comfortably.
It was A De Royer-Dupre’s Shareta who came second in the race under Thierry Jarnet.
The third in line to finish the race was Ed Dunlop’s Snow Fairy riding under Frankie Dettori.
The winning trainer’s other entry, Sarafina was seventh in line to go through the finish line under Christophe-Patrice Lemaire and then it was Reliable Man who ended fifteenth under Gerald Mosse.
Three entries from A P O’Brien, So You Think and St Nicholas Abbey, both finished one after the other, So You Think with Seamie Heffernan went through the wire fourth and St Nicholas Abbey put an end to the race right behind So You Think, coming fifth.
The third entry Treasure Beach stood at the fourteenth position with C O’Donoghue.
The two entries that made the most news before the race began was Sir Michael Stoute’s Workforce who only came twelfth and John Gosden’s St Leger winner, Masked Marvel was a sheer disappointment, finishing in the end.
Even F Head’s Galikova who was being considered as one of the strongest contenders for the title only positioned ninth.
Now she is in for her season’s final race for which she has three options to choose from as her connections point out:
"She could go for the Breeders' Cup Filly And Mare, for which I think we paid $25,000, or we could switch her to the Turf. The Filly And Mare is the easy option anyway”, Schiergen told Paris-Turf.
"However, as she has been sold in part to Mr Yoshida, the Japan Cup is now also an option”.
"She would not be able to run in both, we would have to have to make a decision but as yet nothing as been decided. She will tell us where to go”.
The connections are already mentally prepared for racing her in the most deserving event so that her season ends with yet another success after the hat trick that she has already achieved after winning the Qatar Prix De L’Arc De Triomphe at Longchamp on
2nd October.
