Danedream to head to Great Britain after a victory in the Grosser Preis Der Badischen Unternehmer
Peter Schiergen’s Danedream might be making her first trip to Great Britain over the summer after securing a massive victory in Germany.
The four-year-old filly demonstrated her full potential at Baden-Baden, where she competed in the Group 2 Grosser Preis Der Badischen Unternehmer as a race favourite with a winning shot of 2 to 5.
Using the odds and the good surface of the track, she emerged victorious by ¾ of a length to, Ovambo Queen.
This race took place on 20th May, 2012, after a lay-off of six months since she last competed in November, 2011.
The winning trainer stated to the press that: "I'm very happy as it was her first start after a break. She was not 100% - maybe she was only 80% - but thankfully she was fit enough and she should improve for the race."
In her fourteen starts, the talented bay filly secured six victories and will definitely aim to add another one to her record.
The daughter of Lomitas, out of mare Danedrop, notched a Group 1 victory in the Qatar Prix De L'Arc De Triomphe, which took place at Longchamp, on 2ndOctober, 2011.
Under the guidance of jockey, A. Starke, she landed the victory five lengths before the A De Royer-Dupre trained Shareta.
The Gestut Burg Eberstein and T.Yoshida owned filly has acquired victories all over the world, but she fell short of the expectations when she competed in the Grade 1 Japan Cup at Tokyo on 27th November,2011, where she faced
a minor setback and finished sixth.
It is time for the young runner to try her luck in Great Britain or France, with her form and training, it looks like she can easily come out on top.
Peter Schiergen commented that nothing has been decided about her future plans in these words:
"I am not sure what we will do next. I will have to talk with the owner.
"We have options in France and England. Maybe she could go for the Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and then the King George at Ascot. We will give her the entries and then make some decisions."
