  1. You have nothing to worry about from the mast provided you don't get close enough to touch it (though it will impact on your view).

There is no evidence of non-thermal effects from non-ionising radiation and it isn't going to be powerful enough to heat anything a significant amount 200 m away (workers on the transmitter may have something to worry about if it isn't turned off when they work on it but not you).

The idea that non-ionising radiation has negative effects on people at low levels is nonsense on the same level as the idea that power lines cause cancer (i.e. pure quackery).

  2. Yes it is danger.

  3. Well, if we get too many of them we'll be in danger when we invent something more powerful - we'll have to go about knocking them all down (again) and putting new towers up in their place!

  4. There is no doubt that microwave transmitters are dangerous, however, you need to be in line of sight of the transmitter aerial for it to be of any danger to you.

Visit the site below for more info on the dangers of microwave transmitters.. .

Don't be fobbed off by soft government new-speak.  Microwave transmitters are dangerous and frankly I would not want to live anywhere near one.

The nearest microwave transmitter aerial to where Iive is at Crystal Palace but it's way off on the horizon and not a problem.

  5. depends what the radio tower is, depends n the power of the transmitter.

there are some studies which suggest that being very close to mobile telephone masts can be hazardpus.. however its not proven or generally accepted that they are a problem. some of these studies are suggesting the problme with mobiles may be in the use of the handset, rather than the base station

microwave towers can be a problem, but only if you ae in direct line of the microwave transmitter or recevier(usually these are dishes pointing horizontally to another dish.

persoanlly I doubt there is any significiant risk, but if you do have doubts then don't move there.

ultimately at present no one knows, so its possible that in a few years it may beciem a problem.

be realistic radio transmitters have been around for a long long time.... on various wavebands and powers. radar is a microwave transmitter, and thats been around for 60 years, TV likewise

there are some doubts raised over the newer digital transmitters for cellphones and the emergency services TETRA network.... again nothing is proven

there are said to be problems with living adjacent to power lines (not just overhead lines, but power cables generally, again unproven.

unproven doens't mean there is a risk, or there isnt a risk.. it means that some studies or commentators believe or have observed probems but as yet they have not been proved either way

  6. Now let's have a look at this in perspective: OK, radio transmitters and mobile phone masts have been about for years now, and let's be honest, if there was REALLY any problem with them, they'd have been banned, full stop - but what about the likes of us, right here, indoors: I'm using a "wireless" keyboard and a "wireless" mouse on two PCs, I've got so many remote controls I could build a small house with them all - even the stair-lift has one! - and all that's going on even before I put something in the microwave cooker or use one of the three mobile phones or the BT cordless phones - then there are all the radio signals being beamed at us from satellites - be they for TV channels or G.P.S. systems - and then you worry about a mast which, if truth be known, transmits 'sideways' in order to cover as wide an area as possible as opposed to downwards (i.e. on you!) which would only cover a very small area. I really think you have very little with which to concern yourself - enjoy your new house in the country and stop worrying!
