Dangerous Sun rays??

My friend told me something about the sun in 2008 till 2012 being dangerous and sending rays that will damage phones?? something like that i don't really know acually i didn't really get it so anyway have you heard something like this?? just wondering thx<3

I think you are confusing this with solar activity which goes in 11 year cycles.

This will be at a max in about 2010 when the sun has its maximum output of solar radiation, this can damage our satellites orbiting in space, but it will not have too much effect on ground based equipment because of our atmosphere shielding us and the ozone layer.

this is of course why we are worried about our ozone layer, if this goes , the solar radiation will get through and will damage us.
