Yeah, so I need to reset my router. I just wanted to know what are the risks.

I know that all the ports will be lost, but will it also lose connection to the network, as well as all devices and MAC addresses? Any other risks would also be apprecited

  1. If you are an ordinary user as I am, then resetting your router isn't a big thing. You just lose any info you put on it, and if the main reason you have it is because of wireless power or multiple computers, then you shouldn't worry. If your more technical with what you use it for, and you MUST reset your router, I advise you write down everything you might forget, then reset it. You pretty much summed up all risks though, but really nothing fatal will happen.

  2. What you said pretty much sums it up. There are no other risk

  3. It depends on how your router is set up.  I use encryption but don't bother with listing MAC addresses as I prefer the ease of connecting other systems to help friends troubleshoot.  You may want to consider that.
