so I have NEVER had pink eye. Now, I believe my daughter has pink eye so I am praying that I dont get it.

We are going to go to the doctor tomorrow to get her on antibiotics but until then, how do I avoid getting it? Shes a kid so she touches EVERYTHING!

I know she has it because her eyes are red and a little goopy. The pharmisist at Walgreens said she believes that is pink eye and a school official that I ran into at the grocrey store also noticed it. Ive never had it so I dont know! im just basing this off of what other people tell me until we go to the doctor.

How can I not get it?

  1. Pink eye is very contagious.  When you get a prescription for your daughter ask for one for yourself just in case you get it as well.  You just need to put the drops in and it goes away very quickly.

  2. For conjunctivitis just remember to always wash your hands often before and after applying the medication, and also every time you need to cleanse her eye use a cotton ball or tissue and then toss them, always get a fresh one for every wipe and wipe from corner to corner only in 1 sweep and never repeat  with the same cotton ball or tissue. Since this is highly contagious make sure  the family know to use seperate hand towels in the bathroom.  Sounds strange but this will help in not spreading  the infection  to others and you. Hope she feels better soon.

  3. Wash your hands a lot.  And every time your daughter rubs her eyes, have her wash her hands too.  My 3 year old had it last week.  We put the eyedrops in and it was gone in a day.  If you contact it also, just use the eyedrops.

  4. get ready to play tennis with the family, just about when you think you're over it. BAM it's back, then you end up giving it back to your daughter, and so , and so .   Keep your bodies extra clean. wipe her books off, and everything else.  even making her bed will infect you.

  5. Just wash your hands a lot and wipe down the tables counters light switches and doorhandles with Lysol wipes or spray them with Lysol. Make sure you don't touch your face for any reason and you should be OK.

  6. it's going to be hard, the MD will give you somthing for it.
