Dani Pedrosa awaits news on his surgery, might miss the Spanish Grand Prix - MotoGP News
Repsol Honda rider, Dani Pedrosa, has a fractured right collar-bone after crashing with Marco Simoncelli at the Monster Energy Grand Prix de France on Sunday, May 15.
Soon after a check-up at Clinica Mobile, he was shifted to Clinica Teknon, where the doctors confirmed a neat fracture line to his right collar-bone.
With all the pain and frustration he returned to Barcelona, prior which he was taken to for X-ray scans at the medical facility of Le Mans. The 25-year-old rider had to spend a complete night at the hospital. His race and the chances to lead the championship
were doomed after the accident.
Pedrosa was left motion less after a compressive dressing, yet it is to be decided in few days whether he will undergo surgery or let his collarbone heal by itself. If the surgery is done the ride will once again bear a titanium plate on his fracture line
for healing purposes.
The Repsol Honda team stated that the Spaniard already had undergone a troubling surgery just after the Jerez event and spent the season opener in a painful ride. The last Portuguese event was won by the promising rider in an unconventional way, which shortened
his gap from the point’s leader Jorge Lorenzo, to just four points.
The Spaniard was annoyed after the unpleasant accident and expected for a fine to be charged for the poor race act shown by Simoncelli.
The Repsol Honda rider, Pedrosa said, “I leave here with a broken collarbone and he with a ride through penalty, good for him! Yet again I come out worse off. We only just recovered from the nightmare of the last operation and now I’m hurt again. It is very
unfair, I don’t deserve it.”
His championship was eclipsed by an illegal overtaking act from Simoncelli, who has already been warned by the race direction at Estoril. In the last season, the same act of contact occurred between Lorenzo and Simoncelli, which was highlighted by Jorge
at the post-race press meeting in Estoril.
