Dani Pedrosa criticises Marco Simoncelli for Le Mans accident – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda rider Dani Pedrosa is not willing to forgive Marco Simoncelli of San Carlo Honda Gresini team for the accident during the Le Mans Grand Prix earlier in the 2011 MotoGP season.
Pedrosa will race at Gran Premio d’Italia TIM on Sunday, July 3, 2011 after missing three consecutive races following the Le Mans accident.
Pedrosa on his return at the Mugello event criticised Simoncelli for his harsh racing tactics. The Spaniard broke his right collarbone in the crash in France which ruled him out of Catalunya, Silverstone and Assen Grands Prix.
Pedrosa said, “If someone is still doubting [that Simoncelli is dangerous] that is unbelievable. It is quite clear what he is showing on the track. In Estoril he was laughing about maybe someone will arrest him. Maybe he needs that because I tell you, his
head has nothing but hair.”
In a press conference, Pedrosa directly commented on Simoncelli when he was seated next to him. The Spaniard has painfully made it back to racing action at Mugello.
After Pedrosa was done with the presser, the Italian Simoncelli was given a chance to express his experience from the two incidents with Pedrosa and Jorge Lorenzo.
Simoncelli said, “For me, we speak a lot about that incident. For me, the things he and his manager say are stupid. It is better not to speak with him or his manager.”
In the recent incident with Lorenzo, the Italian was again highly criticised by the teams, fans and fellow riders on the MotoGP grid.
Simoncelli has proved his fast pace in many Free Practice Sessions and qualifying sessions but he has also crashed in four out of seven races in the ongoing 2011 MotoGP season. Luckily, he managed to restart at Le Mans and also at Assen after sweeping Lorenzo
with him.
Let’s see how both the riders fare at the upcoming Gran Premio d’Italia taking place in Mugello on Sunday.
