Dani Pedrosa looking to sustain his winning streak at the Italian Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda wants to continue his winning streak at the upcoming Italian Grand Prix scheduled on Sunday, two days from now.
To achieve their ambition, he believes that they will have to work hard with consistency.
The Honda rider is satisfied with their performance in the last two races they started and believes that they need to keep working at the same speed to attain some more victories.
Pedrosa said, “It’s been good in the last two races. I’m pretty happy about that, but sure we have to keep working the same, trying to ride well again here. It’s important always to stay focussed.”
Talking about the private test at Aragon, he told that they have been able to achieve some improvements, there, and it was important for the end of the season. He told that they are uncertain whether they will use those upgrades in the current 2012 season
or not. The upgrades they achieved were related to the road grip of the bike.
“We were also testing in Aragón. It was important to do this test for the final stage of the championship. We tried to improve some things on the grip, which we may use or may not,” he added.
The Honda rider has exhibited impressive performance over the circuits by finishing all the races he has started to the podium, until now, but one. By winning the last two races he has been able to decrease the championship gap with his old rival Jorge Lorenzo,
to 13 points only.
In the current 2012 season he has been able to win three races until now. He won the German Grand Prix, Indianapolis Grand Prix and Czech Republic Grand Prix.
The Czech Republic GP was a close fight between him and the championship leader, Lorenzo. The strategy he adopted was impressive and succeeded him to the finish line 0.178 seconds before the Yamaha rider.
Lorenzo says that he will try his best at the Italian GP to attain victory, therefore it can be expected that it may become a close battle once again. Let’s see how the two Spanish riders try to defeat each other at the Italian circuit.
