Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda enjoys the first day of practice at Motegi – MotoGP news
Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda enjoys the first day of practice at Motegi circuit.
He topped the free practice 2 session whereas he remained runner up in the first practice session. His teammate, Casey Stoner, remains unsatisfied with his performance because his bike created issues.
Pedrosa enjoyed the first day of practice at Motegi because of their impressive performance. He further anticipates that they will be further improving their bike for the next two days of Japanese Grand Prix. They were able to test both compounds for the
race and the Honda rider told that the new circuit is providing good grip and convincing speed.
He told that they tried to improve the suspension as well and will further try to improve their bike for the race.
Pedrosa said, “The main target today was to test the tyres and we completed some good laps on both hard and soft compounds. The asphalt is new and the grip is quite good, so the lap times are pretty fast from the beginning.”
The other rider of Honda, Casey Stoner, is disappointed with the performance of their bike because it failed in the first session and in the second session they had issues with the break. He added that they were unable to find suitable balance of the bike
and he is not fully comfortable.
Stoner said, “We spent the two sessions trying to find a nice balance with the bike; of course I'm not feeling 100% as it is, so I wanted to get a reasonable feeling with it before I start pushing.”
In addition, he told that he wanted to be fully comfortable with his bike so he could push it hard. He added that he is facing problems with the bike because the bike wants to wheelie and he has to put wait on the front wheel to maintain balance of his bike.
Stoner has recently returned from his ankle injury and told that he is unable to bend his foot far therefore he has to pull forward to maintain the balance of the bike. In trying to pull himself he is putting extra stress over his arms consequently he is
struggling with issues. He told that they will keep working hard to become more competitive.
Let’s see whether Stoner be able to improve his bike until the race day or not.
