Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda fit for Brno round, keen to test 2012 bike – MotoGP news
Repsol Honda team rider Dani Pedrosa has availed the summer break to rehab and get fit for the 11th MotoGP event, Cardion AB Grand Prix due at Brno, Czech Republic on August 14, 2011.
After stressed out races at Sachsenring and Laguna Seca he lost his physical strength. Though he won in Germany but it was at a cost of fatigue. The lack of strength continued to hamper his performance at Laguna Seca forcing him to cross the finish line
in third position.
Pedrosa said, “These two and a half weeks have flown by for me, but I really enjoyed this break. The truth is that I needed it, first of all to rest after the last few races that were physically hard for me but also to disconnect a little and to train, to
get back my physical strength and be fit again.”
During the summer break, he worked hard to retain his strength and gather himself for the Brno event.
Pedrosa said, “When I got back from Laguna I spent some days doing nothing just to relax the whole area of the neck, arms and back. After this I've been combining physical training with relaxation exercises to avoid over stressing the area.”
Presently, the Spaniard is aiming to attempt every race in the second half of the season with full effort and achieve as good results as possible.
Pedrosa also expressed his satisfaction with the performance of his Honda RC212V this season. He feels that the bike is running perfectly and will give an opportunity to win races in the season ahead.
The Spanish rider likes the Brno circuit. He has also won a race at the venue in 125cc and 250cc classes. He has also scored some podium finishes at Brno and now aims to win this season’s event. However, it will be a tough task for him to accomplish but
he is highly motivated for it.
Following the race day, Dani Pedrosa along Casey Stoner will be testing the 1000cc bike during the official post-race test. Stoner has previously test the 2012 bike but Pedrosa will debut the new machine.
