Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda makes it to the podium at United States Grand Prix – MotoGP news
Dani Pedrosa, rider of Repsol Honda successfully made his way to the podium for the United States Grand Prix held at Laguna Seca, last Sunday.
He said that he tried his best in the Grand Prix but he could only make it to the third place as the effort required at Laguna Seca was perhaps more than 100%.
Furthermore, he added that when his teammate Casey Stoner crossed him, he was comfortable that the decision of using soft compound tyres for the race has worked out, although it was a risky choice and was urgently made.
Moreover, Pedrosa said that when he passed Stoner the next time he was going very fast and he felt that it would not be possible for him to control his bike and he would crash.
Furthermore, he added that when he was among the leaders he lost front of the bike many times. He said that he applied brakes to close the gap and control the bike and was eventually able to make it. Moreover, he said that he knew that an ignorable mistake
can prevent him from finishing the race.
He added that they were driving the new bike at Laguna Seca for the first time and the results were good. Besides, he added that they have identified the areas they should improve upon and are looking forward towards the upcoming Indianapolis Grand Prix.
The Spaniard said, “I tried my best in this race and third place was the maximum I could get this time. At the beginning, I was quite confident and calm when Casey passed me because I knew he was on the soft rear tyre and this was the most risky choice for
the race, but finally it worked out perfectly for him. I knew I also had a good pace, but when I caught Casey again and was ready to overtake him I was on the throttle too fast and I had too much momentum there, I almost found myself on the floor.”
In the US Grand Prix, Pedrosa and Stoner were able to score the podium for the 300th time for Honda in MotoGP. The sudden decision of the Australian supported him a lot in achieving the podium for his team.
