Dani Pedrosa registers his third victory of 2012 in Czech Republic – MotoGP news
Dani Pedrosa of Repsol Honda registered his third victory of the 2012 MotoGP season by winning the Czech Republic Grand Prix held yesterday at the Brno circuit.
He successfully edged his old rival, Jorge Lorenzo of Yamaha Factory Racing after a close fight in the very last lap of the race.
The Honda and Yamaha riders went side by side for the whole of the race and then swapped positions four times in the final lap. Pedrosa ended the race as winner only 0.178 seconds ahead of Lorenzo. The Honda rider finished the race in 42 minutes and 51.570
seconds.
Another battle after the fight of Pedrosa and Lorenzo was witnessed for securing the third and fourth position in the Czech GP between Andrea Dovizioso and Cal Crutchlow of Monster Yamaha Tech3. They were close to a gap of around 2 seconds for much of the
race, but eventually Crutchlow made his way to the podium impressively.
The third place on the rostrum was secured by Crutchlow with a gap of 12.343 seconds from the winner. This was the first time he could make it to the podium in his career. The English rider was followed by the other Monster Yamaha Tech3 rider with a gap
of 18.591 seconds from the first place.
Fifth and sixth places were secured by Stefan Bradl of LCR Honda and Alvaro Bautista of Gresini Honda.
Valentino Rossi of Ducati could only make it to the seventh place on the circuit finishing the race 34.514 seconds after Pedrosa. He was the only rider riding from Ducati as his teammate Nicky Hayden is suffering from an injury with his right hand.
8th, 9th and 10th positions were attained by Randy de Puniet of Aspar Aprilia, Karel Abraham of Cardion Ducati and Aleix Espargaro teammate of Puniet.
Ben Spies the other rider of Yamaha was once again unlucky on the circuit he crashed 8 laps prior to the finish line.
Ivan Silva of Avintia FTR was also unable to finish the race he was retired 9 laps before the race.
Toni Elias of Pramac Racing team riding in place of his teammate Hector Barbera could only make it to the 11th place finishing the race 1 minute and 10.003 seconds after Pedrosa.
