Dani Pedrosa ties with Max Biaggi and Randy Mamola after 13 wins - MotoGP News
The running 2011 MotoGP season has listed a new record between Dani Pedrosa, Max Biaggi and Randy Mamola creating a tie with 13 victories in the premier class, but no World title for them.
The Spanish Repsol Honda rider, Dani Pedrosa has won 13-races in his premier class career, a record which is also held by Biaggi and Mamola.
The Italian rider Biaggi has scored an overall 13 wins in his premier class career starting from 500cc category to MotoGP in his last season with Honda HRC. Biaggi has won eight races with from 1999-2002 on a Yamaha-YMR, which also includes his two wins
on the 1000cc Yamaha machine.
His premier class career originally started with a Honda NSR-500 machine in 1998, riding for Team Kanemoto. In his rookie year at the premier class he won two races from a 14-race season. After his debut in GP, giving an impressive performance he shifted
to Yamaha for four seasons, including the first season when MotoGP was announced and the engines were doubled in the engine capacity.
In 2003, he moved back to Honda satellite team Sito Pons, riding a 1000cc Honda RC211V. For two seasons he rode with Sito Pons and claimed three victories. During the 2005 season he moved another step by shifting to the Honda-HRC team, riding a factory RC211V.
His final season in the premier class was not a celebration, as he was unable to record a win in the 17-race season.
The other legend, Mamola who presently shares the title with Dani and Biaggi, has scored 13 victories from his debut season in 1979 to 1987, long before he left the GP class in 1992. The American rider has spent his GP time with many manufactures starting
from Suzuki RG-500 machines, Honda, Yamaha and Cagiva.
Back to present times, Pedrosa has won the last round held at Portugal and with his gaining strength it seems that he will soon cross this record and move ahead of the legends. He is fit and well equipped with his 2011 Honda RC212V machine to beat the rivals.
