  1. It's interesting how the media blows this situation up and makes Danica out to be the "victim" when just a couple weeks ago, she ran over a pit crew member (again, another incident on pit row) and the only media attention that incident got was a short little 30 second mention on SportCenter.

  2. I doubt he did it on purpose. They don't have rearview mirrors you know. And knowing ESPN it will become a media blitz on sexism because ESPN is like MTV. It sucks! Its just drama, drama, drama. Tell me why, instead of playing clips of the winner and the milk pouring and everything, they were focusing on Danica Patrick wanting to fight with Briscoe's crew? She needs to calm down and stop being such a baby. Crashes happen, get over it. She's a good driver, not a great driver. I'll be suprised if she wins another race this year, or even next year.

  3. He should have just honked.

  4. It will probably become a media circus of a frenzy over the Patrick/Briscoe fracas, and it will become sexist for sure. Rather than focus on the fact that Briscoe made a bad maneuver then refused to apologize for his crappy driving, they'll throw it to the boys-club bias on Wind Tunnel for sure.

IMHO, it wasnt Danicas fault, Briscoe is just as bad in IRL as Sadler is in NASCAR, so it was his stupid *** that was at fault. Why IRL didnt black flag him and dock points is beyond me.

  5. This media frenzy is tiresome, they try to make a show out of nothing, I can't even watch.

Patrick walking down the pitlane infuriated wanting to "have a word" is nothing short of funny, if you take it seriously it becomes silly.

    What a circus.

  6. No, he didn't do it on purpose, but Danika will make an issue of it.

  7. the idea of hitting someone in the pit is bad ...thats supposed to be the place where you respect the most...in NASCAR i think they black flag ya for that so your at least a lap down...Briscoe was at fault and should be fined!!!

  8. Briscoe did not crash into Danica Patrick on purpose, he wanted to win the Indy 500 too. It was an accident and those things happen. There is no excuse for Danica to get so upset as to where she would want to fight Briscoe. Sure, it's very disappointing but she just needs to grow up and accept the fact that she got hit.  I heard on the radio that she hit some guy on the pit crew and he had to go to the hospital with a concussion. Who has more to complain about, Danica or the man who got injured? The media has already come to Danica's defense which really ticks me off. If it had been reversed, Briscoe would have been an evil maniac and they would have never stood for that. Just because she's a woman shouldn't mean that she gets off with pulling a stunt like that.

  9. For starters:  Rear-view mirrors don't help when you're coming out of your pit box at a 45 degree angle.  (IMHO, that was Briscoe's first mistake!)

By the way:  they DO have rear-view mirrors.  The first yellow flag of the race on Sunday was caused when the mirror on Bruno Junqueira's car broke off and was sitting on the track -- just waiting to cause an accident.  It wasn't long before a piece of it caused another driver to pit to change his punctured tire.

Of course he didn't crash into Danica on purpose:  He also wanted to win the race!  What he did do was enter the "fast" lane of pit row (furthest from pit boxes), rather than enter on the slower "blend" lane (closest to pit boxes); and then he should have worked his way into the faster traffic in the right lane of "pit exit".  He was simply in too much of a hurry to get into traffic when he wasn't yet up to speed (and was blinded, by pit activity, to traffic in the "fast" lane.)

Briscoe claims it's not his fault because Danica had "brakes on her car too" and (in his opinion) "there was plenty of room for her to avoid" his car (which came straight at her front-end, causing a "T-bone" crash.)  He just doesn't get that the pit is no place to "dis" other drivers, and shouldn't be a place where others need to watch out for him (which is the message he sends by not believing he was in the wrong.)

IMHO, he simply doesn't understand the concept of how to enter/leave pit lane (at least not in the Indy Racing League.)  I believe he's raced enough that he shouldn't get his regulations confused.  (As a result of his previous accidents and "wrecklessness"(sic), the nickname he's made for himself around the IRL/ICS message boards is "Crashcoe".)

It ALREADY HAS become a media blitz on sexism, because the media has hyped Danica so much that the world's sensationalist idiots expect it now.

  10. According to Mario Andretti Briscoe was at fault, when Brisco hut Patricks car.. what she did ,she lost her cool, she wanted to win,and the drivers being aggressive, she'll be in the indy 500 net year, and i hope she wins.but i thnk the media blitz will be sexist.

  11. Why are we so obsessed with Patrick?  Perhaps she was putting on her make up while driving and that is what caused the accident.
