Danick Of Time favourite for Follow Dundalk On Facebook Handicap
Danick Of Time is tipped to succeed in the Follow Dundalk On Facebook Handicap at Dundalk in Ireland on Monday, July 16, 2012. The triumphant horse will be awarded a cash prize of €4,830.
The weather seems to be fine, thus the going will be standard in the 7 furlong event, which will start at 14:55 GMT. There are some decent runner participating in the race, but most of them have been out of form in recent times, which will make it hard for the punters to choose their favourite.
However, the overall performances of Danick Of Time suggest that he can be a solid contender for victory at Dundalk. He does not have an ideal winning percentage, but can surprise his opponents with speed.
The M. Halford’s trainee does not have a lot of experience, as he has participated in just seven events. His performances in them have not been bad, but he has managed to win just once whereas finished runner up on the same number of times.
The young gelding made his debut in 2011 and took part in four races that year. He was unable to catch the attention of the bookies back then, as his performances were pretty much average.
He finished fifth in his first ever outing and followed that up with a similar show in his next race. He was unable to improve his performances afterwards and finished seventh in the last two events of his debut season.
However, the four-year-old runner started the next year in a positive manner, finishing runner up in his first race of the season. He was priced 10 to 1 by the bookies and almost managed to clinch a victory in the end. He fell short by one length, but would have given some hope to his fans.
Iffraaj’s son proved to be highly competitive in his next race and finished first in it. He was expected to produce such a result, as the bookies had rated him the favourite to win. He had to fight his way to the top though and was under immense pressure towards the end.
However, Danick Of Time failed to deliver a good result in his most recent race, finishing sixth in it. He has been running quite regularly at Dundalk, thus will be fully aware of the conditions. His partner in the race today will be Shane Foley.
