Daniel Agger blasts former manager Roy Hodgson’s tactics
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 international believes that the Reds lost their confidence under his guidance.
Speaking on Roy Hodgson’s short reign at Anfield, Daniel Agger said, “Look at the team [under Hodgson] - we played awful, we were s**t. When you look now every single player is better. But when we were losing, everybody was on top of
us, everybody played bad.”
Agger claimed that the arrival of Kenny Dalglish at the helm has done wonders for Liverpool, who are currently on a four-match winning streak. The turnaround for the club is amazing, especially when one considers that the Reds were languishing
in the bottom half of the table just a few weeks ago.
The return of the legendary Scot to the Anfield dugout has galvanised the squad. Captain http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Steven-Gerrard-c34196, a lifelong supporter of Dalglish, has claimed that he will do everything in his power to keep the Liverpool legend in the manager’s
chair. Suddenly, everyone at the club including Gerrard seems like a new player.
Not only did Dalglish restore the side’s confidence, but he also restructured their form on the pitch. The switch in tactics is paying off for Liverpool so far, who now find themselves with a chance to break into the top four before
all is said and done.
Agger had nothing but praise for new manager. He said, “Confidence can win you games and Kenny (Dalglish) and Steve (Gerrard) have put the confidence back in the players and we have shown that definitely in the last four games. Kenny likes to play positive
football, going forward, and keeping the ball on the ground and he is good among the players.”
Liverpool have a chance to extend their unbeaten run in the Barclays Premier League to five games when they face Wigan Athletic on Saturday, 12 February, 2011. If Liverpool win that match, they will move to within three points of fourth placed http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chelsea-c38786.
