Daniel Agger happy with his form but believes there is still room for improvement – EPL News
Injury prone Liverpool centre-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 has expressed satisfaction over his fitness level and has insisted there is more to come from him in the ongoing 2011/12 campaign.
The 26-year-old’s career at Liverpool has been blighted with injuries which had put him out of action on numerous occasions over the past six years.
Agger, who joined Liverpool from Brøndby IF in 2005, suffered a knee injury in March 2011 and was ruled out for more than four months. The Danish international showed extraordinary improvement and recovery process and was back in action during Liverpool’s
pre-season campaign.
The Denmark international was one of the few players who featured in all the pre-season games. Agger started the current campaign impressively as he has played in all Premier League games of the season so far.
Liverpool legend Jan Molby had recently stated that Agger is enjoying the form of his life. However, the Dane has insisted there is still room for improvement as he hopes to build on a strong start to the season.
The 26-year-old is happy with his fitness level but has asserted that he is yet to hit top form and has assured Liverpool fans that they will witness much better performances from him.
Agger played every second of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s pre-season matches and the Dane has claimed that the matches during the off-season have helped him a lot to regain his fitness and confidence.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 international told Liverpool’s official website, "The fact I got the full pre-season has helped me a lot. I feel a lot stronger, a lot better, but I still have more to come, hopefully. I feel I can give some more, have more to offer, so hopefully
I can carry on playing games and that will help me.
Agger believes that he will improve by playing as many games as possible and has predicted that this year will be his best season at Anfield.
"Fitness-wise I am happy right now, but as the season carries on you get more games under your belt and you get stronger, quicker and better. It's difficult to compare to other years or games. It's so difficult for me to say something like that,” Daniel
Agger concluded.
The 26-year-old defender is expected to start in Liverpool’s next match against Tottenham Hotspur on September18, 2011.
