Daniel Agger not going anywhere – Roy Hodgson
Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson downed rumours regarding Daniel Agger securing a move away from the club in the Winter transfer window.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Denmark-c2884 International has been linked to a move to German Giants Wolfsburg, with the club claiming that they have been approached by Liverpool to make a move to sign the left back. The player was on the bench in yesterday’s 1-0 loss to Wolverhampton
Wanderers, following his successful return from injury, which has ruled him out for nearly a season.
The defender has failed to find first team opportunities and has been linked to a move for a long time. Wolfsburg director Dieter Hoeness has claimed that Agger is in the market, which has fuelled the rumours of a transfer. However, Liverpool manager Roy
Hodgson has played down any such speculation, stating that the player would stay put at Anfield.
"http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 player and there's a good chance he'll be in the Liverpool team on Saturday (against Bolton)”, claimed Roy Hodgson
“So if ever you hear Daniel Agger is being 'offered', it's not by Liverpool Football Club - it's by unscrupulous people who are second guessing and looking at players who have not been in the team in the last couple of weeks and suggesting they might be
available,” explained an infuriated Hodgson.
Since his arrival at the club in 2006, Agger has made 124 appearances and scored 7 goals. The player has however managed just 6 appearances this season owing to a knee injury. Liverpool lost their second home fixture this season to another low lying side,
as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Wolves-c40952 managed a victory at Anfield for the first time in 27 years.
Following that result, Roy Hodgson’s days at the club seem numbered as the manager has clearly no experience in managing big clubs. The side has fallen into the bottom 10 and it looks highly unlikely that top players such as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fernando-Torres-c13707 would stay put
come the summer transfer window.
