Daniel Agger welcomes competition for first team places at Liverpool – EPL News
Liverpool defender http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-Agger-c9884 has welcomed the competition in the Reds squad after the Merseyside club signed two new defenders, Jose Enrique and Sebastian Coates, in the recently concluded summer transfer window.
The Danish defender has insisted that he is used to fighting for his place at Anfield club and his performances will help him retain his starting eleven berth.
Kenny Dalglish bolstered his defensive options by signing highly-rated young centre-back Sebastian Coates from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Nacional-c39984 and Jose Enrique from Newcastle United.
Coates was named Copa America’s Young player of the tournament after the defender played a crucial role in Uruguay’s successful campaign. Agger is confident that the 20-year-old will be a huge hit in the Premier League.

Agger has insisted that he is familiar with the changes within the squad and has asserted that it is normal for a club like Liverpool to bring in new players in order to increase the quality and strength of the squad.
"I have been here almost six years now and every year there are new players coming in and players going. It is normal for a big club like Liverpool to bring in players to add to the competition,” the Danish international added.
The 26-year-old believes that high competition for first team places will work in the favour of the club. The Dane insisted it is necessary for Liverpool to have depth in their squad if they want to challenge for the title.
“Everything changes every year, so it's good to have healthy competition as we have now. It's good for the club and the players," Agger concluded.
The former Brondby IF defender has featured in all of the club’s games so far. Agger is also expected to start in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809’s upcoming League tie against Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane.
