The Brazilian right-back has admittedly stated that he and his team-mates were the sole reason behind “legend” Guardiola’s departure from Camp Nou.
The former Sevilla man believes that he and his team mates failed to respond to the magnificent coach as he had liked them to do.
The Barcelona defender stated that their former coach had assured them that he would never leave Barcelona, but only if we refused to respond to his desires would he take such a decision.

"Pep said that he would only leave when we were no longer responding to him," Alves said in an interview with Le Buteur. "We did not respond to him on the field as he would have liked and this is why the players feel responsible for his departure."

Alves was gutted with himself and his teams inability to cope with Pep’s requirements, and put down Guardiola’s departure as sad.
The defender also took out time to praise the progress of fellow compatriot, Neymar, and believes that he is on another level.

"The difference between Messi and Neymar is that Messi plays in Europe, while http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Brazil-c2858," he continued. "Even without tactical discipline, what is important for a team is having players with maturity and a sense of responsibility.
The Barcelona man also made it clear that joining Barcelona would be the perfect option for Neymar to mature.
