The Brazilian full-back is a doubt for the fixture against Getafe, picking up a thigh injury against Real Zaragoza and leaving Montoya to fill the void in his absence.
Barcelona are currently enjoying a good patch of form in La Liga and the Champions League. The Catalan giants have managed to pave their way through into the semi-finals of the European competition, and also managed to chase down Madrid in the Spanish La Liga.
In their last fixture against Real Zaragoza, Barcelona managed to take all three points as http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lionel-Messi-c22296 was again on song. The Argentinean star was able to complete a brace, taking his goal-scoring tally to 60 goals in 50 competitive matches this season.
However, with most of the things turning into http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604’s favour, it wasn’t all ‘good news’ for Josep Guardiola.
With Barcelona scheduled to face Getafe during the midweek, the Brazilian full-back http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Alves is a major doubt for the clash, after suffering a thigh injury.
The Brazilian star picked up a knock during the fixture against Zaragoza and was withdrawn from the pitch during the 68th minute.
Barcelona’s medical squad ran some tests on the Brazilian international and it was confirmed by them that Alves will not be able to play against Getafe on Tuesday, after he managed to pull a muscle on his left thigh.
The Catalan giants have not confirmed about Alves’ return, but they have already admitted that the Brazilian international will not be fully fit as Barcelona host Getafe at the Nou Camp.
With Alves getting injured, it means that he is going to leave the right-back position vacant, leaving Josep Guardiola to make a choice.

The Catalan giants have finally managed to come in touching distance with Real Madrid, as Los Blancos drew against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 over the weekend. Los Blancos are now only four points above the current Spanish champions.
