The Barcelona star expressed his delight through his twitter account where he revealed that he is going to be the ambassador for the FIFA World Cup 2014.
The Brazilian full-back has been chosen from his home state, Bahia, where six of the World Cup games will be played.
Four group stage fixtures, one last-16 fixture and one quarter-final are going to be played in Salvador, the capital city of the state, Bahia.
There are a total of eleven ambassadors who will be representing the FIFA World Cup 2014, and Daniel Alves has been chosen to represent his home state, Bahia.
While expressing his delight on becoming the ambassador, the Brazilian full-back stated on his twitter account:
