Daniel “Chip” Bach new Turfway Park’s general manager
From director of operations since 2006 to Turfway Park’s general manager, Daniel “Chip” Bach, is the new general manager of Turfway Park, and the Kentucky native has been awarded the honours because of his experience in the ever changing horseracing industry and mainly his leadership skills and dedication has earned him the position, according to Caesars Entertainment senior vice president and Horseshoe Cincinnati general manager, Kevin Kline.
"Turfway and the Kentucky horseracing industry have undergone significant change over the past decade," said Kevin Kline. "Chip's industry experience, strong leadership, operational expertise, and dedication to customer service make him an excellent candidate to navigate and grow Turfway's future."
Bach became the member of the Turfway Park when he joined back in 1999, as director of human resources and safety. He did an amazing job at it, and continuously worked on the track’s improvement program, and showed dedication to take it to the next level.
His customer service skills were unique as well, as he kept on making the customer service program more customer friendly with his experience in the industry, keeping in mind what’s best for both the organization and the customers.
It was at this point that Bach was responsive enough to put together the equine industry standard protocol for communications and response to high-risk infectious diseases.
Bach was more involved in the day-to-day business and dealings of the track when he was promoted to director of operations, and had racing, mutuels, admissions, facility, grounds, customer service, and horsemen relations falling under his jurisdiction. The most important involvement was to contribute in the sport’s most popular Grade 1 Kentucky Derby prep race, the Grade 3 Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes.
The Vinery Racing Spiral Stakes has been run over at Turfway Park every year for the past 40 years, and it obviously holds a significant amount of interest from the sport fans, and anyone who knows the significance of the race leading up to the Kentucky Derby.
Bach was successful in achieving one of his earliest goals at Turfway Park to develop the Turfway Park’s customer service program, and so he took on that challenge and never looked back from there.
