Daniel Chopra shoots two aces in a practice round at Pebble Beach - Golf News
Daniel Chopra, a professional golfer from Sweden, aced the famous par-three each seventh and 17th in the practice round of the 2012 AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. He stunned the other participants on the field on Monday, February 6, 2012.
For most players, this was not an easy goal to achieve. Professional players spend their whole life waiting for this moment to come as it happens rarely in the game of golf.
According to the odds by the National hole-in-one registry, the chances of making it are 3000 to 1. In addition to that, the chances of making two aces in a single round are 67 million to 1.
Therefore, it was something that is expected to happen in more than half a billion tries.
When he was asked to comment on his expectations while preparing for the Pro-Am event, he replied by saying that he is confident to make a good start in the tournament, just as he did in the practice round.
Moreover, the aces on seventh and 17th will give him a boost and a little pressure to his opponents, helping him to score good on the course.
He also said that when he saw himself succeeding in making aces, he wished them to happen in the formal event and not just in the practice round.
Another interesting player to watch at Pebble Beach is Davis Love III, who is participating in the event for the 27th consecutive time.
“I thought I may have missed one in that span," Love said. “I am glad I didn't. I always enjoy it here and seem to play well here. It is nice to come back to a place where you have had success”.
Love won the AT&T in 2001 and 2003 and now looks forward to repeating his performance in the 2012 edition and winning the event for the third time.
Moreover, Pebble Beach will also feature a charity match between some of the former and current members of the San Francisco 49ers and New York Giants, competing against each other on Tuesday, February 7, 2012.
The four-day event will formally start on Thursday, February 9, 2012.
