Daniel Levy insists Tottenham Hotspur will not sell key players this summer – EPL news
Tottenham Hotspur Chairman, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniel-c9879 Levy, has insisted that the club will not sell key players in the summer transfer window despite not qualifying for UEFA Champions League. He said that the club wants to keep the squad competitive so that they can challenge
for silverware next season.
Tottenham failed to qualify for the Champions League and finished in fifth place on the Premier League standings table. The London side lost its fourth place berth to Manchester City and will play in the Europa League next term.
Levy admits that Tottenham Hotspur have a large squad and players who are not in the manager’s plans next season will leave the club in the summer. He stated that the club will trim its squad in order to bring in better players.
The chairman also admitted that many of the club’s key players are on the radar of many top European sides after Spurs failed to qualify for Europe’s premier competition but revealed that he has no plans to sell.
“Having quality players means they automatically attract attention from other clubs - but I can assure you that we have no reason to sell, and every intention of retaining, our key players. We shall simply not entertain any approaches for these players,”
he was quoted as saying in an interview.

He hoped that the team will continue to perform at the highest level next season and return to the top four.

“We shall miss and all be disappointed at not qualifying for the Champions League for a subsequent year, but I know that the players will be fully focused next season on returning us to this elite competition,” he concluded.
Tottenham finished fifth in the Premier League this season accumulating 62 points.
