Daniel Lozano wants to continue with his streak – Boxing news
Daniel Lozano, who is the undefeated flyweight contender, says he wants to make a statement by winning his fight on Friday, February 10, at the Al La Carte Pavillion in Tampa.
Revealing his aims, Daniel Lozano, who was crowned the WBC USNBC champion lately, said, “Training is going great and I feel ready as always. I'll shine and do my best.”
Lozano currently bags a streak of 10 straight undefeated fights and he is confident about prolonging it with this upcoming bout. Right now, he is at 10-0.
The energetic fighter further stated, “I respect my opponent, but he is not on my level. I don't take anyone lightly so I am training just as hard as I always have. Once we get the victory on Feb 10th, we will start talks about being on that undercard,"
explains Lozano. I'd like to thank my fans for their support and their belief in me to be world champion. Having their support means a lot to me.”
As of now, there is a possibility of Lozano fighting an undercard bout at the May 5 event which is being headlined by the Cotto vs. Mayweather fight.
However, nothing has been confirmed yet about the possible bout. What’s interesting here is the fact that Golden Boy Promotions, the agency which is promoting the May 5 event, is also very keen to have a Saul Alvarez undercard bout for the same event. Seems
like Golden Boy Promotions is trying its level best to make the event successful, by topping it up with fighters like Amir Khan, Mosley and the like.
However, nothing has been finalised yet regarding the undercard bouts and we are still awaiting any good news. If sources are to be believed then either Khan or Mosley will be selected for the bout against Alvarez which will surely uplift the stature of
this event.
Mosley has not won a single fight in the last 3 years of his career and he is eagerly waiting for the right time to strike the iron. Similarly, Lozano wants to continue with his winning streak and he is confident that he will achieve the milestone.
