Daniel Morelli: We think Robert Kubica can start driving from October 2011 – Formula 1 news
Daniel Morelli, who is the manager of Renault driver Robert Kubica, has said that he believes Kubica will be able to drive a Formula 1 car until October 2011.
Morelli said Kubica is recovering fast from the injuries that he sustained in rally accident back in February 2011.
Morelli added that the injured driver is still in rehabilitation since his horrific crash almost 7 months ago. In addition, he stated that Kubica will undergo exercises to take a final decision about his condition and might be racing in the 2011 Brazilian
Grand Prix, which is scheduled to be held on November 27.
Kubica’s manager talked to the media and mentioned that when the Renault driver returns to the grid, he needs to try an F1 car rather than the simulator.
He commented, “Finally we have the elbow that is not blocked anymore and that is permitting the movement of the forearm and the wrist. And this is needed to get back the strength because the muscles are now very weak. What we look for is sufficient functionality
for driving. Robert is not a tennis player or a pianist. What he needs is sufficient strength.”
Morelli went on to mention, “I don't really care whether Robert will drive in Brazil or not. I care that for the Brazilian period that he will be able to drive.”
Currently, Bruno Senna is driving for Renault as a race driver alongside Vitaly Petrov. In the recently held Italian Grand Prix, Senna impressed the Enstone-based outfit by taking a 9th place.
He started his Monza race from the 10th position on the opening grid and putting all of his efforts, he ended his Grand Prix ahead of Sebastien Buemi of Toro Rosso.
Renault are very happy with Senna’s show in the Italian race. After getting positive results from him, the team is expecting more from Senna in the last six rounds of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
The Singapore Grand Prix will take place on September 25, 2011 at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Let’s see how whether Robert Kubica is able to make a comeback to the sport in this season or not.
