Daniel Ricciardo aiming to beat Liuzzi, Glock and d’Ambrosio in remainder of 2011 season – Formula 1
Hispania Racing Team driver Daniel Ricciardo is aiming to beat his teammate Vitantonio Liuzzi and both of the drivers of the Virgin Racing Team in the remainder of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
Ricciardo talked to the media and said that he believes he can beat Liuzzi and Virgin’s Timo Glock and Jerome d’Ambrosio in the next race weekends of the ongoing season, if he puts all of his efforts during the race.
The team driver made his debut in Formula 1 racing by HRT in the European Grand Prix, where he drove in place of Narain Karthikeyan. He had a successful time at the Valencia racetrack, as he completed his race and stayed on the race circuit until the end
of the Grand Prix.
The Australian is still learning the various aspects of Formula 1 sport and the features of their F111 car.
Talking to reporters, Ricciardo said, “I think the result in Canada was really good, Tonio has proved he is a very capable driver and I think he will be tough to beat. In Silverstone I was quite off his pace. I knew it would take a bit of time but you always
want a bit more. But it was very clear to me that I have a strong team-mate.”
The 22-year-old driver went on to mention, “It is going to take my best efforts to really try and get in front of him and to push for a personal best result for the team. I don't think it is going to come through luck; it's just going to be hard work for
now.”
Ricciardo further stated that if he beat his teammate Liuzzi and both drivers of VRT in the rest of the season, it will be a decent performance from him in the season.
The HRT driver discussed with the media and added that he has to perform well this season for a bright future in the sport.
In the recently held Hungarian Grand Prix, Ricciardo finished his race at the 18th place after starting from the 22nd position on the grid.
Let’s see how he performs in the second part of the ongoing season.
