Daniel Ricciardo aims to score more points in the remainder of 2012 – Formula 1 news
Toro Rosso driver Daniel Ricciardo has said that he is aiming to score more points in the remainder of the 2012 Formula 1 season after attaining promising results in the last couple of races.
Ricciardo secured an incredible ninth place finish in the Korean Grand Prix after taking a start from 21st grid slot and impressed everyone with his amazing pace.
The Australian driver was quite disappointed after the qualifying of the Korean GP as he faced five-place grid penalty for an unscheduled gearbox change. Moreover, he struggled with braking problem during the ending laps of the race due to which he lost
his competitive eighth place to his teammate, Jean-Eric Vergne.
Nevertheless, he said that he is extremely pleased with his result in the preceding race as he managed to score some crucial points for his team even after facing immense difficulties. In addition, he said that he is positively looking forward to come up
stronger in the Indian GP and is targeting to attain good result so as to secure a good position in this year’s championship fight.
“I hope we can carry this on. We have been doing it when maybe others have had a bit of bad luck, but it could have been even better,” Ricciardo said.
“We lost points at the last corner in Monza and we lost eighth here and missed out on better points. We have got something going right now. I am racing really well and I am happy with my performances, so I am definitely confident for India, and it's a good
circuit too,” he added.
Besides, he said that he is immensely happy with the overall progress of his team and admired their efforts for making the essential step-ups in the car. He also said that they are eying to deliver their best in the remaining four races of the current season
“In pure performance this was our best weekend for a long time,” he said.
It will be interesting to see how he performs in the forthcoming races and whether he will be able to score points with consistency or not.
