Daniel Ricciardo of Toro Rosso to do promotional filming at Imola – Formula 1 news
Daniel Ricciardo of team Toro Rosso is going to do some promotional filming at the Imola circuit in Italy this week.
He said that they are not allowed to do more than 100 kilometres over two days. He added that although he is not driving much but still he is enjoying the historical circuit. He said that after finishing the promotional activities he will be having his vocations.
Ricciardo said, “We’re doing some promotional filming this week at Imola for our sponsors. It’s quite limited running – I think we’re only allowed 100 kilometres over the two days – but it’s pretty cool nonetheless to go to a circuit with so much history.
Once we’re finished, then the summer shutdown begins.”
The Australian driver has been unable to win any race or score any pole position in the ongoing 2012 Formula 1 season. In the Hungaroring Grand Prix, he started the race from 18th grid position and could only finish at 15th place.
He has only been able to score two points in the current season. In the current season, he has only been able to conclude one race among top ten contenders at the Australian Grand Prix held on March 18, 2012 by finishing ninth. Until now he has finished
all the races he has started except the Monaco Grand Prix in which he retired.
Currently racing with car number 16, the Australian had his first race for Hispania Racing Team in British Grand Prix in 2011 but could not pick up any points during the season.
Toro Rosso has only been able to secure 6 points in the 2012 constructors’ championship and holds 9th place in the championship.
He joined team Toro Rosso in 2011 as a test driver later in 2012 he became a regular driver for the team.
He has been able to secure Formula Renault 2.0 WEC championship in 2008 and British Formula three in 2009.
In Formula Renault 3.5 Series, he made his debut in 2009. He started in 25 races and could only win 6 races. In the series, he was also able to secure 10 pole positions and was able to finish at 2nd place in 2010.
